Redwoods National Park

April 2 @ 8:00 am - April 7 @ 8:00 am

The Redwood National and State Parks are old-growth temperate rain forests. Nearly half of the remaining old growth redwoods are in this park system, including giants five stories taller than the Statue of Liberty. Average mature trees, several hundred years old, stand from 200 to 240 feet tall and have diameters of 10 to 15 feet, and some trees have been measured at more than 360 feet. The tallest tree in the world, The Stratosphere Giant located at Humboldt Redwoods State Park, is just over 370 feet tall. The parks also protect vast prairies, oak woodlands, wild riverways, and nearly 40 miles of rugged coastline.
